Weekend

Friday afternoon at work was good, had that typical Friday feeling of excitement,the weekend is here time to spend quality time with my boys.The plan was to go to a friends to get two of boys hair done. They have been growing it for a few months. Love it when it’s done but really find it frustrating when it’s the  in between stages . I haven’t got a girl so I should be grateful I get to do their hair . I can cornrow but think it looks neater when my friends/hairdresser does it . I do miss getting their hair cut and shaped up as I think it looks soo smart . But they want to grow it so I just have to be supportive. 

   
 
 Friday night was difficult as my youngest 11 month olds cough and cold got worse , he woke up having coughing fits and vomitng.Had the Calpol camomile and lavender plug in which was strong but didn’t seem to ease his symptoms too much. 

The news in Paris is heartbreaking so sad all those innocent lives lost💔💔

Saturday Morning had to call 111 and they sent me to my local chemist for extra services ,where they checked him out and prescriped Dioralyte and more paracetamols. They suggested to continue with cough medicine but I feel it was making him worse. 

So stayed home and got on with housework/ looking after little man. 
My Mum came round to spend the day , she got an uber cab home and forgot to enter the promotion code I sent her for £10.00  off her ride home🙈. 

Didn’t get much sleep Saturday night but managed to have a nap Sunday afternoon miracle . Think I needed that, woke up time to get the dinner on and continue with washing.

He seems a lot better today bless him just need to shift that cough and cold. 

Looks like I will need to sort out my eldest sons hair , as I didn’t a chance to get it done my friend this weekend.

Finalising party for my middle son who will be 8 in a few weeks exciting.🎁🎁🎉🎉🎉

After this week I’m officially on holiday from work until the end of December. Looking forward to attending the playgroups at the children centre and catching up with other mums and babies .  

Friday Morning

It’s Friday morning,on the train heading to work. Didn’t get much sleep last night. Had to call out British Gas Homecare engineer as there was an electrical fault on the circuit board at home. 

The boys were not to impressed. We huddled together until I sorted out back up lighting around the house.  It was a different and interesting Bon fire night. 

Thank God I had so many normal and scented candles . Think it’s time to invest in a few more torches for emergencies and and old fashion house phone in the event of no power. Fingers crossed it will get sorted properly today.
Little man slept in his cot until 23:00 then had to co sleep as was tired and needed sleep for today.  

Just seen this bed and think it’s a really cool idea.

Great for first year or so, could help with transition into their cot/cotbed as they are sleeping in separate part of the bed. It’s like a built in cot how cool.

 
It’s looks as if there is a bottle storage /warmer part at the side of the bed which could be very useful during the night for babies on formula.

16:26 My first cup of tea for the day

Well today has been an adventure to say the least . Had an appointment at 9:30 was aiming to get there for 9:00, left home without breakfast or a cup of tea. Time was against me. Decided to get the bus huge mistake 🙈🙈 had a very long journey got there slightly late. 

  

  
Had a fun journey back home . I checked with the bus driver to make sure it was going the right place . After getting the buggy on the back of the bus. He was quite rude think he is feed up with everyone asking that question . I only asked as I haven’t got that bus in years. Then the crazy people started to board the bus. People without credit on their Oystercards . 

  
People getting angry with a lady speaking to the driver as her child nearly fell off the bus🙈didn’t actually see what happened as it was packed. Then a women got on very loud I couldn’t work out if it was blue paint in her hair and over half her face. Well she walks past and smelt of alcohol and kept swearing and  acting rude making everyone feel uncomfortable . She tried to pay someone for a seat and tried to sit on the floor near the bus driver. He soon told her she couldn’t sit there she started singing a danger song. So glad my other boys were not on this bus to hear all the swearing. She finally got off the bus and a passenger told me she is a regular on the bus and normally swear at school children. I poppedinto Tescos to get a few bits struggled home with pushchair and bags .Well I can say I really missed my car today and won’t be doing that again. Got the dinner on and think it’s time for a nice cup of tea, before feeding the boys and off to Kung fu we go .  

 

Keeping in touch day

Today started extremely early especially as the little one got up to feed a number of times. Woke up 5:50 feed little man the got ready for the long day ahead…..

Kids on way to school and little man dropped of to his Godmothers. Journey to the office begins, feel weird only carrying my bags no baby bag insight and no pushchair. Get on the train which was extremely packed spoke to a friend on the phone that’s when I realised I had forgotten the breast pump power supply and suction unit🙈 thought I was doing so well until this point.  Get to London Bridge thinking o my gosh I carried the expresser with the microwaveable container bottles breastmilk storage bag but no power unit.Felt very frustrated, surely there must be a shop in London that sells expressers. The hunt began. Boots at Monument, no joy, Superdrug , Tesco on Eastcheap and Boots corner Fenchurch Street no joy. I got to the office and started my day. Felt strange being back in the office no kids. Was able to have lots of tea, water without being distributed.  Had a few meetings to discuss changes to the company since I had been on maternity leave.  Part of me is glad to be back other part missing my little man.  I decided to pop to Liverpool Street boots after trying to call them for ages to see if  they have an expresser . Got there nooo expresser in sight, asked the staff no joy. They offered to order it in for the following day. Which wasn’t any help to me.

Got back to the office and decided to hand express in and closed meeting room which had been booked by myself.

I must say this was the first time hand expressing and it wasn’t too bad. 

 Good day overall but very tiring,  in bed by 8:15pm.
Felt disappointed that:

•  I forgot something so important today expresser plug unit. 
• I was unable to purchase a new one in the London Bridge/Liverpoool Street area
• Had to leave little man all day

Felt Happy that:

• I was able to hand express
• I had a productive days settling back into the office.
• I had a break from my normal routine.
• I had adult conversations.
• I had lunch without any interruptions.

Maybe next time I need this top and system for the office.

Dinner time

This is a very important time for the family , especially with boys as they are always hungry. It’s a good sign that they are growing and are healthy and you can soon tell if they are unwell,  as their eating habits changes.

My boys have a few favourites lasagne, chicken and rice , macaroni and cheese , I could be here all day writing this list. 

Today I’ve made lamb casserole with potatoes ,which will be served with vegetables and rice.   

 
Some days I’m greeted at the school playground with “Do you have food or snacks we are hungry?”. 

If there is an after school activity,  I always have to bring a bag with snacks. If not there will be a lot of complaining. 

Once my 7 year old was given £2.50 so I told him to use it for his morning snack at school that week.(which is £0.50 per item/day).

I was very confused when my son told me the teacher had passed a message on regarding £2.00. Only to discover he had attempted to spend the weeks allowance in one day. 

I asked what he brought , he happily  informed me” I had three sausage rolls and apple juice”. Surely that could have fed three people , and surely he must be full up with all that food and lunch.  No he was eagerly trying to find out if dinner was ready yet.

  
I feel so good when I can prepare dinner before the school run , but that’s not always possible.

Love their appetites , they love fruit and vegetables so I shouldn’t complain.

Shopping here is fun and great for buying things in big bulk. Today and friend and I went shopping here to get things for my Godson’s birthday party at the weekend.
